RENT A CAR
There are two companies that rent cars in Almuñécar: Bahia Sexi och Joya and they speak English.
It is good to know is that you can stop the car basically anywhere and carry out a quick errand as long as you turn on the warning lights and do not block the traffic. Also be careful about which zone you park in. Blue marking is payment zone, white marking is free and yellow means forbidden. There is no automatic low beam on Spanish cars, so do not forget to turn the lights on and also turn them off.
TAXI
Taxis are not stopped on the street here. There are 2 stops (paradas), one at the bus station and one at Olivares. In La Herradura there are taxis on the Paseo. LOCAL BUSSES
There are 5 different buss routes. Timetables are available and different for winter and summer and all buses depart from Plaza de la Carrera and return to the same place. There are 5 different routes; Line 1 is called Circular and goes west to Cotobro and turns around there. Line 2 goes to Marina del Este and La Herradura and turns around there. Line 3 goes to Velilla and turns around. Line 5 goes north to the cemetery / cementerio and turns around in Torrecuevas.
BUSS
The bus station is located in the city center and you can find the timetable at: www.alsa.es or by entering the bus terminal. It is recommended to buy a ticket before, but if there is room, you can also do it on the bus depending on the route. If there is no bus station (eg in La Herradura) you can buy a ticket on the bus or online on the website.
