Vélez de Benaudalla is located on a plateau between the new motorway and the old Granada road. The large tower El Castillo de los Ulloa, after Juan de Ulloa, dominates the cityscape and can be seen in the distance. The grounds are from the Moorish period and the tower was restored in 1992. Follow the signs and easy to find. Nice views.
The most famous is the Jardin Nazari garden, which is the only Islamic garden preserved in Europe. http://www.velezbenaudalla.org/rutas-tur%C3%ADsticas/rutas-patrimonio-historicos/el-jard%C3%ADn-nazar%C3%AD-generalife-chico/
The church Nuestra Señora del Rosario, is located in the middle of the thoroughfare at the small roundabout. The city has a quiet sheltered location with great access to fresh water from the Sierra Nevada and springs from the mountains. Below the city run some waterfalls.
To the north of the city is the large pond that serves as a reservoir for water along the Guadalfeo River.
The olive oil museum, Museo de Aceite, south of the city, shows a film about how production is done. It is also possible to buy their local products.
