Lújar is located on the southern slope of the Sierra de Lújar whose highest point is 1,878 meters above sea level, about 11 km from the coastal road N340 if you turn off at Castell de Ferro. You can also drive there from Motril. This is a real white village in the Andalusian mountains. The church Iglesia Santo Cristo de Cabril, in the middle of the village, and you do not notice much of the outside world.
