On Fridays there is a market in town and then there is a party. Then there is the Mercadillo de Viernes, also called El Baratillo. Over 200 stands open between 10am and 2pm at the Paseo Blas Infante marketplace, EVERY Friday, except Long Friday and Fridays in conjunction with the Fiesta Virgen de la Antigua in August.
The entrance is at the Puerta de Almuñécar triumphal arch which, with its 3 arches, refers to the Roman, Moorish and Christian periods, and which lies between the N-340 and McDonalds.
RASTRO DE SEGUNDA MANO
Sundays are the flea market / Rastro, in the same place between 10.00 and 14.00. Here you can find just about anything.
LA HERRADURA
Also in La Herradura there is a market on Fridays and it is located in Plaza Nueva in the center. The market is not that big, but ambulatory markets are good, because everyone is not able to access different shopping centers, as most tourists are used to.
MERCADILLO DE VIERNES
Here people are needed and it is important to keep their money. It is easy to shop a lot. You can easily get rid of them too, by not having enough control. Unemployment is high, so you have to be careful. Never bring handbags and purses. Always have the money in your pocket.
There is a market every day throughout Spain. Each village has its own market and day. Ask on the tourist information when the other neighboring villages have their markets. Can be fun to see other markets. Easy to take the bus if you are interested.
